Yeah, we know it says "temporarily unavailable" on this page. Ignore that! We're working with Ruta Locura to provide non-trekking pole users the option to purchase a pole set for the SplitWing Tarp or bundle.

SplitWing Carbon Poles can be ordered directly from Ruta Locura. We think Ruta Locura makes the best carbon tarp/tent poles on the market. The poles are made-to-order in the USA. 

Ordering Instructions

We have two recommended pole specs for SplitWing. One is a fixed-length front pole setup, and the other is adjustable. To order, visit Ruta Locura and enter the specs of your preferred option:

If you need your poles to be as compact as possible, Ruta Locura can split these poles into more sections to the poles to decrease the overall packed length. The fixed-length pole set up can be made as a 5-section pole with a packed length of ~11" at a modest cost/weight increase. This setup will fit easily on drop bars, along frame tubes, and in many three-pack mount bags.

Which poles should I buy?

Fixed Length ($71, 3.88oz): This pole set consists of two fixed-length carbon poles. The front pole is the correct length to pitch the tarp with the mesh body and vestibule. It's cut a little long so have some adjustability on uneven ground. Simply pitch the tarp with the front pole slightly to one side. This may be the best option for you if:

• You want the lightest possible pole set
• You don't feel the need to adjust the height/width of the tarp
• You rarely use the tarp by itself (i.e., without the vestibule and/or mesh body)

Adjustable ($86, 4.60oz): This pole set consists of an adjustable-length front pole and a fixed-length rear pole. It uses a machined titanium insert to securely adjust the length of the front pole. This might be for you if:

• You want maximum versatility
• You often use the tarp without the vestibule or mesh body
• You frequently pitch the tarp on uneven ground
